My great-grandmother was Delia Lynsky who was born in Swinford area in Co Mayo in 1862. She and her sister, Mamie, somehow ended up in San Francisco, California. Delia married my great-grandfather, Henry Elvin, in San Francisco in 1884 according to their marriage license. They had 4 children including my grandfather, Howard Elvin. Delia passed away when her children were young. Mamie, Delia's sister, married "Bob Ford" after they were introduced to each other by the Fitzgeralds, according to my mother. I'm not sure if Mamie married in Ireland or in San Francisco, California. Howard Elvin was my mother's father. My mother is still living, in her 90's. Both she and her sister have many memories of Delia and Mamie and life in San Francisco and Vallejo, California in the earliier part of the 1900's. I did travel to Swinford, Ireland but was not successful in finding any relatives. I would love to return and connect with more family! From the Napa Valley, California, jammyers@sbcglobal.net

My Grandmother, Bridget Lynskey, daughter of Edward Lynskey and Honora Campbell of Swinford, Co.Mayo came to New York about 1889. Her father remarried Ellen McLoughlin after Honora's death. I think they had a son Martin. I wonder if there are any decendents?? Maureen McCormack MM1942@AOL.com

NEW INFORMATION Hello - Some time ago I posted a search for my mother who was Ellen Rita Lynskey. Names on my baptism certificate, presumably Godparents are Anne Philomena Lynskey and Raymond Smolen. Mother was born in Fairhill Galway on 23rd May 1932. She was the daughter of Patrick and Bridget Lynskey. (Maiden name Bridget Burke) Robert E Phelps was my father's name. I have never seen a picture or have had any contact with anyone that knew mother apart from my father who died a few years back. It took me ten years to find him so I don't give up too easily ! My Grandparents married in St Nicholas Cathedral Galway on 17th Feb 1920. Witnesses were H Gurvey and Mary Fallon. Priest looks like John J O'Kilby I'd very much like to contact my mother or anyone that knew her and would appreciate any assistance available. Thanks, Bob Repheljnr@googlemail.com
