I am not sure if I am part of your family line, but I am sure that a bunch of Lynskey's together can figure where we belong in the big Lynskey tree.
Great idea and job so far. I have about 17,000 names from my research and have gone as far back as 300 b.c.. I am using the Family Tree Maker software for my research and am willing to share this with any Lynskey.

Chuck, I think I am the first American to go back to visit Athenry outside Galway in 1952. Celia Lynskey was still living at the Lynskey home place, with the thatched roof. I have an envelope full of the thatch. Does anyone know of any earlier visits to the home place from any ancestors? Good luck with the site. Hello from New Zealand. My wife's grandmother's maiden name was Lynskey. It seems unlikely that this branch is related to yours, but in case other Lynskey's are browsing I have set out what I know.
Thomas Lynskey married Mary Rutledge. We have a letter to their daughter Mary which shows that the family lived in Shrule, Ireland.
Four sons and three daughters migrated to New Zealand. I don't have information on the daughters at this time.
Children: Michael, married ? Moran; arrived in New Zealand in 1861 William, married ? Moran Edward, married ? Moran (three Morans were sisters) John, born in Hollymount, County Mayo in 1850, died 26 November, 1930 in Hawarden, New Zealand. married Bridget Joyce at Kilcommon, Hollymount parish; Bridget died 1 June 1930 in Hawarden, New Zealand. Children: Mary married Cornelius O'Sullivan 5 May 1898. Mary aged 22 at the time died 5 May 1944 aged 68 Bridget (Mrs Thomas Mitten) Anne, did not marry; died 19 February 1951 aged 65 years Julia, did not marry, died 7 April 1973, aged 92. Kate became a nun of the Bridgittine order died in 1959 Thomas, died 20 August 1898, aged 13

I am looking for family of a John Lynskey and his wife Prudence. They lived at 004 Vine Street in Bellaire, Belomont County, Ohio in 1936. Prudence's mother Margaret Kennedy Frost was my g grandmother's sister. I am hoping that a Lynskey researcher may have information on Margaret's family, and thus my g grandmother.
John Lynskey reportedly worked at a brewery in Bellaire. They had at least one child, Arthur.
